Barquitos de Papel

As part of a volunteer work, the community dinning building was designed for “Barquitos de Papel” non-profit. The project aimed to not only provide a safe and welcoming space for children to gather and dine together but also to foster a sense of community and sustainability.

The building or community dining, was carefully designed to be versatile and adaptable, allowing for different activities and events to take place simultaneously. The use of flexible panels offers the opportunity to create smaller rooms for various purposes.

Moreover, an outdoor space is envisioned as a hub for urban agriculture, where children and community members can come together to learn about growing their own food and fostering a connection with nature. The initiative not only promotes healthy eating habits but also seeks to mitigate the food insecurity situation within the community.

Overall, this social project exemplifies the power of design and community collaboration in creating spaces that are not only functional but also enriching and empowering for all those involved. Most importantly it truly showcases the potential for architecture and social initiatives to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in need and the community as a whole.
